£500million fund to overcome fears about electric cars

Nick Clegg has launched a £500million fund to put more spark into lacklustre electric car sales and allay motorist’s fears about their batteries going flat.
Perhaps inviting remarks that the Deputy Prime Minister is himself worried about losing power, the cash boost will provide more roadside charging point plugs to stop cars running out of juice while on the road.
It will also extend the £5,000 taxpayer subsidy encouraging drivers to buy the vehicles and introduce new measures to make cities more electric car friendly.
