What is the the Solar Feed-in Tariff scheme?

Money from Solar Power = FITs

The introduction of the new feed-in tariff (FIT) scheme has replaced the former grant system to help with purchase costs, and remove the idea that Solar power is an expensive luxury.

The Government’s FIT initiative pays a fixed sum (13.39p) for every unit of electricity you generate (kWh), if your system is no larger than 4kWh, whether or not you use it.

They will also continue to do so for 20 years. Larger systems receive slightly less per kWh.

In addition they will pay you a tariff of 4.85p for every kW of electricity you produce but can’t use and export to the National Grid (export tariff).

The amount you can earn is substantial, your total cost for installation can be recouped in less than 10 years; for the remainder of the 20 years you can earn considerable sums.
